Well gosh, how long has it been? So much has happened since I last posted. Adalyn is 5 and starts older 4's tomorrow. Dalton is 14 and a Freshman at a new high school. We have moved, love it too! We are getting ready for our 3rd Moon Festival next month. And life couldn't be sweeter! I hope to do lots more posting now that things are settling down. :o)

Magical Disney

We had a amazing time in Disney! There was a brief moment that I wondered if we would get in. It seems that a lot of other people had the same idea of going to Florida on Christmas vacation. As we where driving to the park the sign by Magic Kingdom said FULL. We bought our tickets on line so I just assumed that Full meant us too, wrong! There was a brief moment I panicked, Adalyn had to see all her princesses, Dalton had to go to the awesome candy store. Finally enough people left and we where able to get in, whew! When we got in,

they where having their afternoon parade. Adalyn was so excited, she waved at everyone. She said at one point her arm was tired of waving. :o) The park was magical all decked out for the holidays. There was lights every where. They blew bubbles out of the tops of the buildings at night and it really looked like snow. We got to see the night parade and Cinderella and Snow White where in that one. They had the most awesome fire works at dark and Tinker Bell flew from the castle, WOW! That was about all Adalyn could take. She was so tired when we left but I believe she could have stayed all night.

Please Pray for Haiti

This is Mary Jo, Doug's sister that travelled with him to China. She went to Haiti back a couple of months ago to help at an orphanage. We all know whats going on in that country and she is on a plane headed back to Haiti to help in any way she can. I know how gracious I am that she did what she did for Doug and I. I'll never be able to repay her, so it seems the least I can do to ask for prayers as she enters this devastated country. She has a blog if you would like to follow.

I had the kids pictures taken right before Christmas. We headed to Florida on Christmas morning so I had no time to send Christmas cards and wouldn't you know it, I think these are the best pictures they have taken. I know I'm probably a little bias but just look at those cute faces! They did so good at the photo shoot. They where on their best behavior, maybe they didn't want to take any chances since Christmas was right around the corner!

I have pictures from Florida to post. The trip to Disney World was amazing, to see Adalyn's eyes light up, it still makes my heart smile!

After two years of wearing braces, Dalton is free! It was not always easy but he did it. He has to wear a retainer for 4 months straight and then just at night. He has been so good about taking care of everything that goes along with it. He is growing up so fast, I couldn't be prouder of my young man!

Dalton sat on Santa's lap!!! He wouldn't sit on Santa's lap last year because he said he was to big. I think he knew I was a little sad that Adalyn wouldn't sit on Santa's lap this year. I asked him why he had his picture taken this year and not last year, he said "mom, I did it for Adalyn".

Christmas already?

Yes it's true, I cant wait until Christmas! Dalton hasn't said much about opening presents but Adalyn ask everyday. So tonight after gymnastics I caved. They where so happy with their presents, it was worth begging Doug to let them open one. He says no more opening until Christmas, we'll see! :o)

She did talk to Santa tonight at dinner, hey, I'll take what I can get at this point. She said "see mom I did talk to him and I told him what I want and that's OK if I don't sit on his lap." Yes Miss Adalyn that is quite alright.

I took these pictures of Adalyn this morning before school. I finally got all the Christmas decorations up. Well the tree still needs a little tweeking. Adalyn helped with decorating and all the ornaments are in the same spot, right in front. :o) I'm hoping this is not the only picture I get of her and Santa this year, we'll see. I showed her last years picture and told her about all her friends that have visited the big guy in red. She says when its Christmas she'll visit him, not sure when that might be.

Singing, Cookies and Sleeping

Last night me and Adalyn practiced on making some cookies for Santa, and Santa approves. My child is such a JOY! I turn my head, she grabbed a beater and was singing her heart out. It was so stinkin funny! I'm not sure what she was singing, I don't think she knew either. That is what is so funny about her, she just makes it up as she goes along. Notice her attire, she picked it out. Hey, a girly girl cant make cookies with out a tiera can she?

I guess all that singing and baking wore her out. Dalton ask me if he could open a present since she was asleep to make it even. She noticed a couple of days earlier that he had one more present under the tree than her. Dalton, trying to being cleaver said I could save my money and just let him open a present, Ummmm, no, but nice try.

Happy Birthday Angel. There isn't a day that goes by that I dont think of you, how big you would be, how long your hair would be. What would your likes and dislikes be. The reason you where taken from us, I may never know. But I'm grateful for the short time we had. I know one day we will be together again, and what a glorious day that will be! A Thankful Thanksgiving

We had a nice Thanksgiving aside loosing Doug's mom earlier in the week. Although it was expected, its still never easy. Please keep him and his family in your prayers in the weeks to come.

We had a nice time at my moms new house. She is so appreciative, its heart warming to see. Me and Leslie headed out to Toys R Us at about 11 Thanksgiving night. Who's idea was it to open at Midnight anyway? Well, we got some great deals and Leslie even got a cold standing outside in 30 degree weather. I think it took me all weekend to get caught up on my sleep. I've started wrapping present and Adalyn is so funny to watch run in the house and check under the tree for new gifts. We have our first Christmas party this weekend and she is so excited to get to finally open one. I have a feeling the next 3 weeks are going to be long ones for a anxious 4 year old!

Tis The Season UPDATE

Well, its that time of year that us parents are shopping to find the perfect gift for our kids. I really thought for a moment that this year I was going to get off easy, wrong. My dear 4 year old has ask for a hot item once again, whaaaaaaaaaaa! Yes, this adorable cute little 8-10 dollar toy cant be found anywhere in our area. Adalyn has been asking for a HAMSTER for a while and I have it on her list, just not in my possession. Not in any hurry to purchase the little rodent (I mean hamster), I've been busy shopping and gathering other cute little things for my pea pie. DH calls me today to ask if I had the hamster for her yet? Why no I don't, just hadn't picked it up yet. Well, he proceeds to tell me they are a hot item and I should start looking. Looking, searching, surfing, nothing! How can this be? While I do love a challenge, this is posing to be a rather hard one. Amazon has them as you can imagine for 5 times their original cost or more. I will not stoop to that level, yet. Check back in a week or so, that could change. :o)

To answer the question are they real, no, thank goodness! They "run" on batteries. But if I don't find one soon, real may be the deal. So I plead with all you Moms, please check your local toy store, call a friend of a friend, call your representative. This should be against some kind of law, not making enough toys to go around and showing them repeatedly on the television. I hope to find one of the cute little run on batteries easy to take care of rodent. But if I don't, Christmas will still happen and we will always keep His birth at the center of our celebration.

Not so scary Halloween

Adalyn is so into Snow White. She wants everything to do with her. None of the other princesses even come close. So when she wanted to be Snow White for Halloween it was no surprise. Makes my Christmas shopping a whole lot easier! I must say, I think she made quite the cute Snow White. We stopped by the Disney store and she ran up to the Snow White toys and said "look mom, she has her doors with her." Oh how she makes my heart smile!

Another Adalyn funny this week: a very good friend calls her Addy Sue May. The other night she was telling her daddy she didn't know why he calls her that, its not her name. Doug told her he couldn't help himself, he was a red neck. She said "that's right daddy, and we are blue necks." Yep, that's my little WILDCAT!

Adalyn learned how to whistle this week! This girl never ceases to amaze me! We where at soccer the other night and the referee did the whistle thing with his fingers. I didn't know it at the time but she asked her dad how he did that. Doug showed her and she said "I can do that". Well, a couple of days later she was doing it. My mom called me and asked me if I knew what my daughter could do, no I didn't, so she had her to whistle for me. I couldn't believe it! I called Doug and told him about it and he said she had asked him the other night at soccer how to do it. She is so smart and funny!

Soccer Baby

Adalyn is loving soccer! And mommy and daddy are too! We are so fortunate that our church offers so many things for our kids to be involved in. Dalton is helping with score keeping and watching little siblings (which is right up his alley). The kids have a memory verse to learn each week, their team gets a point point for every player that remembers the verse. Some times that is the only way we get a point. I was helping Adalyn remember hers last night on the way to church and she said "mom we have said that 4 times, now 5 times". I'm guessing she was over learning her memory verse, which she did remember! :o)

I'm so late in posting these from our Moon Festival. We had a great time as always, hanging out with the moms and dads and watching the kids play. It was a little cooler than last year but everyone managed to stay warm and enjoy the fall weather. Adalyn gets so excited this time of year when we start getting everything ready. I didn't get a confirmed count, but I think we had close to 70 including kids. We had a couple of new families and that always makes for an exciting time. One family had only been home for a month. The other had came home in the summer. Its neat to talk to them and see all the excitement in their eyes and hear all their stories. The have no idea, it only gets better!

We had several families that helped out with getting things ready and bringing things to make this bigger and better than last year. Mom, Leslie, Carolin, Kelly, Cynthia, Laura Lynn, Felicia, thank you so much for all you did! We hope to have even more next year!

Wow, I cant believe its been 18 years! Where does the time go?! I would do it a million times over (not sure he feels the same) :o) Oh sure he does!!!! I think! Anyway we had an amazing weekend hosting our Moon Festival. Thanks to all that came and made it a special day. There where a lot of pictures taken and I being the host, didn't have to take a single one. As long as my peeps take the pictures, I'll host. It is the best set up ever cause there are some awesome picture takers in our group!

Oh yes the day has come, I'm a winner! I'll be honest, I never win anything so this was such a nice surprise, yeah for me! My bloggy buddy Regina from No Greater Joys was having a blogoversary giveaway and I won the second place prize! I won a 20 dollar gift certificate from the one and only TARGET. I love me some Target so this will be well spent. Also, our Moon festival is coming up and I'm sure I could find a thing or two for it!

Birthday parties and football

We went to Miss Marlee's birthday party on Saturday. She had her party at Build A Bear and them we headed over to Max & Erma's for cake and ice cream. It was a fun filled day, we all had a great time. Kentucky played their rival Louisville in football and got a big ole W! We are busy getting ready for our Moon festival. If anybody is coming and hasn't emailed me, it's not to late. I'm planning some different things from last year and so excited. I've been researching it and found out some very interesting things. If anyone has any ideas they would like to share, I would love to hear them.

DH is on a overnight golf trip. Adalyn just talked with him on the phone and I guess she didn't realize he was staying all night.

M: tomorrow

A: you mean he's staying ALL night?

M: yes

A: WELL, I MISS MY DADDY! My eyes are getting wet

M: It's ok, he'll be home soon.

A: no, I mean I'm going to cry!

Her first day of school went good and she loves her teacher. She is a wonderful christian lady. I asked the director if she could stay all the way through 12th grade?

She just informed me she's ok now, she just needed a little cry. Oh how her daddy is going to love this story.

Firsts & Sassy Pants

We ended the summer on a great note. My dad won the state fair for the first time and my mom moved into her first brand new house. I was so excited and proud for my parents. They both are so deserving. Adalyn was so excited to see all the animals and got to sit on a sheep. She is definitely my little farmer. She loves every thing about a animal and tractor. Dalton and Dakota got to open and close the door on a limo. The limos where waiting outside for Taylor Swift fans that had gone to her concert. Adalyn was in heaven when she saw her semi trailers. She said we get to see Taylor, thanks mom! Well, not exactly, maybe next year. I have a feeling she'll be back.

Adalyn starts school tomorrow. I cant believe this is her second year. Where does the time go? She is really excited about finally going. Dalton has been back a couple of weeks and she cant understand why its not her turn. We'll see if the excitement continues through the year. I told her to do something tonight, I cant even remember what it was. She said "yes Ms. Boss." I said what did you say and she said "mom, I get it." She also says her brain is thinking of you, how can you argue with that!

My sweet Dalton loves all things small, especially when it comes to his nieces. Sometimes it seems like yesterday he was a little guy with curly strawberry hair, running around in a diaper. And sometimes he seems like he has been here long before me. He is a strong, bright and loving young man and I'm blessed beyond words to be his mom!

Celebrating Birthdays

We took our grandson Dakota with us to Holiday World to celebrate his 12th birthday last week. The kids had a blast, well, I did too! It is the best place ever. We try to make it an annual trip. His party is Sunday at Camp HIHO. It looks like a great place to have a party. The kids will get to fish, swim and ride in boats.

We are also having a fund raiser on Saturday in Bailey's memory. Two other families are also included. One family lost their son a couple of years ago and the other is my co-workers sister who has ovarian cancer and is going to Houston next week for treatment. It's so awesome to live in a town where people come together to help one another in need. It's good to know in these times that there is still so much good and compassion in the world that sometimes goes unnoticed. There is a corn hole tournament, bake sale, silent auction and a lot of other fun things for people to do. The weather is suppose to be great both days, we are thankful for that. Hope everyone has a great weekend, we are!

Thankful for Twinkle Toes & Granny

I know, two post in one day. But I had to share this one. My mom, she is the best, and no I wont share. :o) She found these for Miss Adalyn today in our little one horse town! How crazy is that! I cant tell you how many trips I have made to the Ville looking for these cute shoes. I had stores calling all over, I mean within a 100 miles of us with no luck. They all say the same thing, sorry Sketcher didn't know they would be so popular. Well, while that may make me feel better I still have a 4 year old that it means nothing to. My co-worker even looked on line with no luck. Either they weren't the right size or not the right style. Uggggg, I told Adalyn we would find them somehow, somewhere. Little did I know but Granny beat me. Now how do you compete with such an awesome Granny? Thanks mom, we love you!!!!!!

Horse Show

This was our horse shows 20th anniversary and it was a grand one! Adalyn was in heaven! We took her 3 out of the 4 nights and I'm sure she could have done 4. She is sooo in love with a horse and they where every where. She didn't know where to look first. Now that I have her on my side, I definitely see a horse in our future. Yea for us!

Dalton volunteered for some friends of ours that has started a recycle business. That little guy worked his tail off. They where so impressed with him that they are going to let him work some on weekends when they get up and running good. He is so excited to have a job and make his own money, me too! :o)

This summer has come and gone but we have made the most of it. Spending time with family and friends and making great memories, life is Grand!

Adalyn loves to play dress up. So I snapped a few pictures of her the other day in her dress up attire. We are having the most fun filled summer. We met Missy and her family for dinner while they where in town, they are the sweetest! Paige is as cute in person as pictures. Dalton and her found out they can both roll their tongues. I think there could be something in the works. :o)

We have hung out with Leslie and Cynthia. Leslie is on the road to mending and I've enjoyed time with her kids. Cynthia has a new daughter and it has been so much fun having a little one around again.

We hope everyone is enjoying the summer and making great memories with their families.

I Promise

I promise to love this amazing child that God has chosen to be my daughter for as long as I live.

We finalized our adoption on Wednesday. I have thought about how I would put all this into words, I don't know that there are words that would do it justice, so I'm going to keep it simple. Doug and I promised in front of God, the judge and our family and friends to be the best parents we can be to this amazing child. We finally closed one chapter in our journey and opened a new, Amen.

Look at our little firecrackers, aint they cute!

We had a great time Saturday celebrating the 4th. It rained off and on but that didnt stop us from enjoying great company and fireworks. The kids had a great time playing nerf guns and us adults played couple corn hole. Leslie and Larry rock! But me and Doug are ready for a rematch. Felicia and Stu aren't bad either. Felicia was awesome for her first time, but she's a lefty, I'm sure thats why! :o) Carolin didn't try her hand at it, her partner wasn't feeling well, we hope Brian is feeling better. Adalyn is soooo excited to go see the big eared mouse! This is the adorable dress Leslie made for her to wear when she meets him, how cute! Thanks Leslie, the girls are going to be the hit of Disney! Adalyn had been so excited to wear this dress. She asked if she could sleep in it tonight. Yep, she's sleeping in it. The Minnie she is holding is from Doug's sister. It was one of her favorite things when she first came home. She also wanted to take a picture of her with her dog too. I came in the kitchen earlier and heard her singing only to find she was on the floor with Bel singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. It was so sweet, Bel was enjoying it I could tell.

Tonight as we where walking to the house, she said look mom a half moon. Oh my gosh, is she not the smartest girl! Then she asked, where is the other half? Oh how I love all the new things she comes up with.

Summer Fun

We had a very busy weekend. Adalyn had two birthday parties on Saturday. We started off in Louisville at one of her panda pals party. The kids played on inflatables and then made chocolate covered marshmallows with sprinkles, yum!

Then it was off to my sister's two kids parties that afternoon for a cookout and all the trimmings. The kids had a great time playing in all types of water stuff. It was so hot! Adalyn took up with a little cutie at the party and talked him into giving her a ride around the yard in a Jeep. It was so cute to see them talking and laughing together.

Only 18 days until we leave for the Mouse House in Florida. We are so excited to see the big eared guy. Leslie is making the most adorable outfits for the girls to wear. I cant wait to watch their faces light up when they see the castle and all the characters. Through the eyes of a child is what its all about.

Dalton gets awards

Dalton had his award ceremony on Monday. His teacher called me Sunday night to tell me he was getting some awards and we should be there. So we got up as usual Monday morning and he was so surprised to see us at school. I'm so proud of him because he doesn't mind to tell anyone who ask, he doesn't like school. So for him to get two awards was very nice. You could tell he was proud of himself. I cant believe he is entering his last year of middle school. Where does the time go?

The First Time I Ever Saw Her Face

Today is our 3rd gotcha day! Wow, has it really been that long, but then again it seems like yesterday when they stepped off that plane and I looked into those big brown eyes and knew I would never be the same. Doug called me at 3:00am to tell me the wonderful news and I remember just laying in bed thinking we really have her, she is finally ours forever. I ask what she was doing and he said she was just setting there looking at him. He said she was so beautiful he couldn't hardly look at her. How could that be, of course I had only seem her in pictures. He was right on, she was so perfect in every way it seemed like a dream. The first thing I did when I saw her was take off her socks. At first I thought how silly that was but in hind sight, that's what all new moms do is check out all the fingers and toes. I had never seen her feet or ears in the pictures Doug and his sister where posting. His sister took her out of her baby pouch from Doug and handed her to me. I remember having that same feeling when they handed me Dalton. Its the best feeling, one I'll never forget.

I know I will never be a perfect mom.

Some times my house is a mess, but I always have time to swing my kids or watch cartoons with them or just hang out.

I may not always do devotion with them, but they know our Lord and Savior and know he is the reason for our existence.

I cant sew a lick, but I sure know how to find a good seamstress if I need one.

I'm not a gourmet cook, but can find the best drive-thru in town.

I know I still fall short, but I am the mother with the qualities God needs me to have to be my kids moms, and for that I am forever grateful.

Leslie got these great shots last night at Adalyn's last gymnastics session. She was so excited for her friends to be there. We had dinner with Leslie and the girls afterwards to celebrate Miss Adalyn's birthday.

I cant believe my baby is 4 today! Where has the last 3 years gone? She is so excited for her party on Saturday, she ask everyday, "how many more days til my birthday party?" When I wished her happy birthday this morning she said "mom, now I don't have to pretend I'm 4!" She asked my mom today what her brain was thinking? My mom said it was thinking about her and she said "well, mine is thinking about you".

Yummy desserts!

What an amazing weekend I've had! This is one full month and we aint done yet! Friday, my coworkers treated me to gifts and lunch. Saturday, me, my wonderful Mom and Adalyn went shopping for me, thanks Mom! Adalyn did manage to get a few things for her upcoming birthday.

Sunday night we went out with the girls to On The Border and then to Felicia's house for some yummy dessert. Leslie, Noel and me all celebrate our birthday on the same day! We had such a great time hanging out. Thanks to everyone who made this one terrific birthday.

Cookouts and fun

Cynthia invited Leslie and us over Sunday for a cookout. I love this time of year, cookouts, warm weather and hanging out with friends. It just doesn't get any better than that. The kids had a great time playing together and the guys got some golf in. We look forward to many more cookouts with family and friends.

How cute is this apron? Leslie made it for me for my birthday and I love it! She has took to this sewing like a duck to water. Go check out her blog at the cute stuff she's making. Shannan is also another talented chick. I've been meaning to introduce her, check out her blog too. These two chicks got some serious talent in the sewing department. She is a great person, so kind and giving. I feel like I've known her all my life.

Leslie has even got me to sewing. I never thought I would be sewing. I made, with her help, aprons for Adalyn's preschool teacher and helper.

We are going to the game farm for Adalyn's last day of school tomorrow. I cant believe she is through her first year!

Happy Birthday to my sweet Dalton! I can not believe he is going to be 13 on Monday!!!!! I remember my first mothers day like it was yesterday. Dalton was 31 minutes old and I was exhausted, excited and over the moon in love with this little strawberry blonde guy. After he blew out his candles tonight, someone asked him if he made a wish and he said no, my wish has already came true. How could I be any luckier?

We had such a fun time celebrating with family and friends tonight. Leslie was gracious enough to take pictures and put together these wonderful collages. What on earth would I do without her? What a great friend I have.

I'm so thankful that God choose me to be a mother. Being called mom is truly one of lifes greatest blessings.

This cute picture of Miss Adalyn was taken by Carolin from Hunter Happenings at her spunky little Miss Emma's birthday party. The cute outfit was made by Leslie from My Girls. The kids had so much fun and the birthday party. The weather was great all day. Leslie, bless her heart, was hemming Adalyn's shorts Friday night at 10:30. Thanks Leslie, the outfit turned out so cute and we got so many compliments that I'm sure you're going to be busy sewing for a while.

We had our monthly play date Saturday morning at our house and then it was on to two birthday parties that afternoon. I felt like I was gearing up for the Derby!! We survived it and look forward to another busy weekend coming up. I just hope the weather is as good as it was this past weekend but I think we might have to trade our Derby hats for rain boots.

A couple of Adalyn funnies: when I was getting the house ready for her play date she asked me who was coming over. I told her, its your play group, you know, your friends from China. She said "oh", to which I proceeded to ask her, are you from China? And with her cute and southern draw she replied, "no I'm from Sebbyville Tutucky"! How can you argue with that!?

She was watching TV in my moms bedroom and ask my mom if she had come and got her pop, my mom said "yes I brought it in here with me." She said "well I'm thirsty". My mom said "well come in here and get a drink" and she said "but I'm thirsty in here." She is so funny and everyday with her is an adventure, to think she is only turning 4. I cant wait to see what the future holds.

Thankful for an amazing Mamaw

I'm thankful that I had an amazing grandmother into my adult life that was the best role model ever. Leslie took these pictures at her celebration of life. I'm so glad I have them to look back on, my mamaw is proud I'm sure. She wanted her family to be happy and celebrate her long life of 90 years, if she only knew how hard it would be for us to say goodbye. She passed away on Valentines Day and I can't think of another day so appropriate for her to meet the Lord. She was the closest thing to perfect I probably will ever know, she was kind, loving, gentle and above all, she was a Christian. She laid to rest a daughter at the age of two, her husband of more than thirty years and 4 months later her son. She lost grandchildren and great grandchildren but never once did she question the Lord. She had 11 children and 23 grandchildren and she always made each of us feel unique and special. I think of her everyday and know the heavens are rejoicing, for they truly got an angel.

I'm posting these ADORABLE pictures of Adalyn for Leslie! She had never seen this cute side of Adalyn. She was a little upset because someone was laughing at her. I cant imagine why? Thank goodness it doesn't take her long to get over her spells. I looked up and she was one the bench posing for Lisa with the biggest smile, I cant wait to see those!

I must say again what a great evening we had, these are some awesome ladies!

We had a blast tonight meeting our blogging buddies! Its so amazing how we can meet for the first time and its like we all live in the same community and see each other all the time. Our kids played together like they see each other everyday. Lisa and Missy are great and I cant wait until we can get together again. We are already planning a road trip. We thought Missy could meet me and Leslie and we'd pick up Michelle and head on up to Lisa's. We may have an extra seat or two if any one else wants to tag along. I'm sure it will be a trip of a life time.

We started off with dinner and a photo shoot. Then headed outside for another photo shoot and then Felicia took us to an amazing place for another photo shoot. I'm telling you, it looked like Elvis had rose from the dead with all the cameras flashing. I cant wait to get my camera and join in on the fun. But until then I'm thankful for great friends who love to take great pictures.

Catching Up

It has been so busy around here and I don't look for it to slow down any time soon. We are starting into birthday mode and we have a lot! We have a birthday every week for a month.

We headed off to Florida for spring break. Man was it cold, but I knew we where taking a chance going in April. Doug got in some much needed golf and we did make it to the beach for a day. We did get some sun even though it was a little on the chilly side. I forgot my camera but did get a few pictures of the kids on a disposable one. I'll post some when I get them on a memory card. Adalyn loved the beach, well she loved Florida and everything about it. She kept saying Mommy isn't this the best ever?! I dont think she remembered being there last year. We stayed with my aunt and uncle that Adalyn is crazy about. She missed my mom and was so excited to get home and see her. She said she wanted to go home with her and me to stay at home, so I couldn't help but let her.

What an exciting week I have coming up! Lisa from The Long Road to China, and Missy from Live Big And Laugh are coming to town! I cant wait to meet them and hope they have an awesome trip!

Three wonderful years ago we got an amazing call!!!!! And the next day we got 3 pictures of the most beautiful little girl we had ever laid eyes on. There are no words that describe how I felt and I still get butterflies thinking about it.

I loved her long before I ever saw her face. But I wondered if it would be the same depth of love that I felt with Dalton. God had been so gracious to me already, was I testing him? I prayed for the same love, feelings and emotions I already knew with him but what if I didn't? Could I love another child as I did him? She deserved the very best, what if I couldn't give it to her? Its funny now looking back that I would even have these questions. Her smile, her personality, her funny things she says and does. It all just amazes me and leaves me in awe that one little tiny being could have me so wrapped around her little tiny finger and not even know it. I thank the Lord each and every day he blesses me to be a mom, there is nothing else any better!

She is a wonderful friend, as well as a great coordinator. She takes time out of her busy life to plan get togethers for us and this weekend was nothing short of great planning. We went to Disney on Ice and it was wonderful. The adults as well as the kids had a great time. We shopped a little afterwards and finished up the evening with supper at Calvert's. It was a very fun filled day. I don't even have to worry about taking pictures because thanks to her and Larry that's taken care of too.

I hope everyone crosses paths with a friend as special as I have in their lifetime. It sure does make life more enjoyable.

Adalyn was one happy girl tonight, she finished up her gymnastics class and got her ribbon. She was so excited standing up on that podium cheesing for her brother to take her picture. Of course I forgot tonight was the last night and didn't take my camera so I hope cell phones take desent pictures. We signed her up for another session so hopefully by then I'll have my new camera and get some great pictures. I'll need them to look back on when she makes it to the Olympics one day. :o)

Adalyn has been in gymnastics for a while now and she just loves it. She absolutely loves this bathing suit, aka "gymnastics outfit." She would wear it everyday if I would let her, and honestly if we aren't going anywhere I usually do. :o)

Saturday we had the most perfect day and "there she was" running around in the back yard. Yes, in this bathing suit and her purple ankle boots. It was a sight to behold!!!

Some of the things Adalyn comes up with are so funny. She knows that every ones middle name is "Gail" just like hers. I'm mommy Gail, daddy is daddy Gail, Dalton is Dalton Gail etc. Dalton tried to explain to her that every ones name is not like hers, she didn't want any part of his explanation, she knows she's right, end of story.

I baked a cake for my friends birthday in a bundt pan the other day and when she saw it she said "a donut cake". I'd never even thought of it looking like a donut but I guess it kinda does.

She calls yesterday, last day.

I told her one day when she was sucking her thumb it was going to fall off if she didn't quit sucking it. Later on she came to me pointing to her thumb and said "see mommy it didn't fall off". She also told me that when she was 4 she wouldn't suck it any more. Well her birthday is a couple of months away so we'll see how that goes. One things for sure, if she sucks it till she goes off to college, she'll still be my sunshine.

I'm really getting tired of the white stuff. Don't get me wrong, I like a little snow every now and then but this has gone on way to long. The kids might miss their spring break and I doubt this is the last we see of the stuff. I did enjoy being with the kids last week and sleigh riding though and the snow cream isn't bad either but when the temp gets in the single digits I'm over it. We had a ice storm on top of the snow so that made for a interesting week. It's suppose to be warmer this weekend so maybe that will get rid of some of the ice.

Adalyn has a cold and not feeling well. She is so sweet, when you ask her if she is feeling bad and she says "yes" and you say sorry she says "why, you didn't do anything". She learned her phone number and how to ride her bike(w/training wheels) last week so aside the ice it was a great week.

Sara at Football and Fried Rice is a new mom to beautiful Mya and has two handsome boys. When I first starting blogging, I loved the name of her blog and started visiting. She was waiting and waiting for her daughter from China. She made the cutest cakes to celebrate the wait. It was so exciting to relive all the excitement of what she was going through. She has a awesome mom that also has a blog with all kinds of neat stuff.

Felicia at The Fleur-de-lis Cottage is a person you would love to just sit and enjoy your favorite beverage with. Her kids are adorable, her husband is an amazing singer and she can decorate just about anything.

We had our monthly play date today and celebrated the Chinese New Year. Thanks for hosting Debbie and Liana, we had a great time. We colored pictures and made envelopes for good luck. Its always nice to see the moms and catch up on things. As you can see from the pictures we tried to get a couch photo but it was more entertaining than anything. Some of the girls didn't want to sit on the couch so they stood behind the couch. Either way we got some great pictures for the girls to look back on and have a laugh.

I received a very sad call from Leslie tonight about a family who has lost everything to a fire. This family traveled with Leslie and Larry to China in 2007. It breaks my heart for anyone to go through something of this magnitude. Please say a prayer for them in the days to come. If any one has any ideas how to help this family out please pass them along. I know God is watching over them and their children and surly there is something good that will come of this.

Adalyn was going out the door this morning and I thought how cute she looked all bundled up. (pay no attention to the date) So I grabbed my camera and got this picture. In the first picture she was reading a hymn book. She loves to read and has a mommy who dont. Funny how God knows the perfect child. Anyway needless to say I'm reading a lot more these days and actually enjoying it.

I have a neat story I wanted to share. Last night I went with Doug to take pictures of a job he is doing. Didn't want to go, tired, long day at work, tired, had to drag Adalyn back out. Anyway, got there, took pictures. Cutest young couple, only married a couple of years. Three dogs, no kids just starting out. Adalyn was all over the little puppy she was holding. She ask to hold it over and over. So she asked her husband to bring out their other two dogs that weren't as small as the puppy she was holding for Adalyn to see and complimenting on how cute Adalyn was all the while.

We where just about ready to walk out the door and she asked "was it a hard process to go through to adopt"? A smile appeared on my face, well thats all she needed to ask, wish she would have asked earlier, I had so much to say and not enough time to say it all! How awesome is God to sent us to them! That was one trip I'm so glad I made!

I just love my new look. Leslie told me to start looking something. Sure no problem but little did I know there are so many to choose from. Christmas Eve our son and his fiance that live in Michigan went to church with us for our candle light service. I wasn't sure how Adalyn would do but once again she amazed me and was super and Dalton sang along to the songs. It was nice to have them with me, all cozy and enjoying the service together.

Christmas morning, Dalton was up early as I expected. But Adalyn slept in and when I tried to wake her she said just a minute longer. Can I watch cartoons for a minute? She finally made her way to the living room and was in awe of what her little eyes saw. The rest of the day she kept saying I didn't know Santa came! We went to my mom's that afternoon and then on to the movies that night. We saw Bedtime Stories, it was a cute movie and a great way to end a busy two days.

We hope everyone had a great Christmas and made memories to last a lifetime!

Adalyn's friend Miss Opal who we go to church with gave her the sweetest gift Sunday. She give her the little bible Adalyn is holding. Her mom is always so thoughtful. Ok, I know its not Christmas but I can explain. Sunday night Miss Adalyn could not keep her little hands off our village and the poor juggler took the brunt of her miss handlings. I honestly thought I would run out of super glue. This poor little guy has at least a tube of the stuff keeping him together. Anyway I hurt her feelings by telling her the little guy would have to go bye bye if she couldn't leave him alone. So to make up to her I let her open a present. The look on her face when she opened it was priceless. Do I think I should have waited, no. When she kissed me and hugged my neck that was all needed to know I was right. Oh, and she has not touched him since.

I have been so fortunate for both of my kids to love the guy in red. Adalyn adores him this year. It could be due to the fact that she understands that he is the one who leaves all the goodies under the tree. But what ever the reason I'm just glad to have pictures of my kids this magical time of year.

This particular Santa has been at the same place or over 14 years. So he is the only one the kids have had their pictures taken with. It was nice when Dalton was little and noticed things like that. He never questioned anything about Santa because it was always the same one. Ahh the little things in life, if this Santa only knew how easy he makes my life.

Saturday was a busy day for us. Leslie and I went to Trims and Whims. Its kinda like a craft show all about Christmas. We where kid free. I dont think I've ever been without kids. I have to say, I kinda missed them. We met up with my sister and mom and had lunch in their tea room. The food is always so yummy. Teachers work it so it was nice to see some of Daltons teachers from years ago. We got a few Christmas presents and got into the Christmas spirit. I think I just might get the tree out.

Brrrr, it was cold. That night we headed to our lighting up out town. They close down the streets and people gather to watch our little town turn into a city of lights. The kids alway have a great time. They sale hot cocoa, popcorn, all those things that light up for the kids and the shops along main street are open.

Its a nice time to see people that you haven't seen in a while. We meet up with friends to watch the lighting and then headed back to our house for dinner and chatting. The kids played and we got to solve the worlds problems, what could be better?

Sunday has been a lazy day for us. I cant remember the last time we have just been plain lazy, and man did it feel good. We watched The Polar Express and took naps, great day. We are headed out to catch a movie tonight, Madagascar. I figured we might as well do something, we wont be able to go to bed until midnight. I hope everyone has a great week.

Trick or Treating

We hope everyone enjoyed the Halloween season. The kids had a great time this year. Adalyn is old enough now to really enjoy the whole trick or treating thing. Dalton dressed up but just to hand out candy and help his little sister, such a great big brother. We went to our church this year for trunk or treat and had a blast. So many cute vehicles all dressed up for the kids. They had chili, hot dogs and a samore making station.

After the candy gathering was over we went out to eat with another family from church. Cynthia has recently started a blog and are waiting to hear any day for news to travel back to China for their second daughter.

We had Halloween pictures taken one week and Christmas the next, crazy isn't it? The holidays are upon us. This weekend we celebrate Light up our little town. The kids are excited and know Santa is coming soon.

Our daughter dressed up like Sarah Palin this year. What do you think? I think she might be a little bit prettier, ok so I'm bias its my right.

I've been tagged by Leslie and Regina. I've been trying to think of ramdon and/or weird things about myself. Its hard to think of things about yourself but here goes.
1) I can not stand to walk on smooth concrete barefooted, or touch frosted glass.

2) I dont eat or chicken or eggs. I will cook chicken for my family but would rather not cook eggs. Everyone in our family likes them but me. I can't hardly even wash dishes that they have been on. If I fix them for breakfast the plates and forks have to be washed seperate and with bleach water.

3) I always make my bed before I get in it at night. I should make it in the morning but I hardly have time to get ready let alone make a bed.

4) I dont like to stay away from home. A couple of days and I'm ready to come home. When we do go I take all my bed clothes and only take off my shoes to go to bed.

5) I dont like to be alone and require very little me time. I work about 2 miles from home and thats about all the time alone I need.

6) I hate to read, and my poor son hates it too. I wish I did and maybe he would like to read more.

7) I love, love, love to shop, for anyone other than myself. This one is probably the weirdest of all. If I could pay someone to shop for me I would.

I'm sure I could come up with a few more but these are all that comes to mind. I hope I didn't bore anyone to bad.

We were invited to Miss Lilee's halloween party Saturday night. The weather was perfect and so was the company. The take home goody bags where full of all kinds of goodies. Thanks Amanda and Chuck for inviting us, we had a great time.

We went to Bernheim Forest over the weekend and had the best time. These wonderful pictures where taken with Leslie's oops, I mean Larry's camera. I just love this time of year and hanging out with our friends. Thanks guys for a fun day.

Friday night me and Adalyn aka Cinderella went trick or treating with a friend of mine and her daughter. She was so excited to be able to finally wear her costume. I think she is the cutest Cinderella, dont you?

A Adalyn cute moment, the other night she saw dolphins on tv and was so excited because she remembered seeing "golfins in Florida when we where on vacation. No matter how I tried to correct her she insisted they where golfins, too cute.

Christmas is Saved

When I got to work this morning there was an email from Target telling me I could order the Bath Blizzard. The order has been sent and I can breathe a sign of relief. Its funny I was just in Target yesterday and inquired about it and they looked at me as if I had two heads. Needless to say they didnt have any. I should have it by Wednesday. I'll keep you posted, thanks for keeping and eye out for me.
